Shooting video with the HTC HD7 mobile phone

Up until Maxis passed me a unit of the HTC HD7 for review as part of their Maxis10 initiative, I’ve never had the opportunity to experiment with HD video capabilities of a mobile phone. Naturally, I was most pleased to be given the chance to use a phone with a LARGE (believe me, it is SO VERY LARGE) screen and 720p HD video. One of our Integricity companies was headed to Kuantan for a server deployment and 2011 planning retreat, so … Continue reading

iPad Talk

We are on the brink of the iPad launch in Malaysia, as reported by many. In line with that, I thought it appropriate to share a video that was shot at the cozy beanbag corner of our Integricity office. We had several early-adopters of the iPad join in for a discussion on how they use their toy for work and play. We heard from Ben Israel (then Digital Strategy Director at Integricity Interactive), Niki Cheong (avid blogger & The Star journalist), Toh … Continue reading

Pastors, the Internet, social media and boring slides

Today, I was given the opportunity to speak to a small group of pastors and ministries and share with them on “Tools and toys to enhance your ministry”. Having been in church for a good 30 or so years of my life, I’ve experienced heaps and I am sensitive to what engages and what doesn’t. I hear a lot from people who are both creative and non-creative. As such, I decided to try and help expose the group to the … Continue reading

Project 365: Day one photos

It’s encouraging to see so many people contributing towards #Project365, which is all about sharing a photo a day from your surroundings  with the world (find out more about it here). Within a day, there were quite a few people who posted up their photos, and these are some of those that I managed to catch from the Twitter stream – I’m sure I missed quite a few, but it’s alright… Before I show all the photos I dug up, … Continue reading

16 presentation tips from Twitter

I’ve been tweeting a fair bit about improving presentation skills and was asked last week to compile all my tweets under one roof for easy reference. I thought that was a reasonable request, and here’s my collection of 16 tweets – some are based on tips I picked up from a book I highly recommend, called Presentation Zen. It’s by Garr Reynolds, who is truly the king of great presentations. To many, public speaking is even worse than death or … Continue reading

Yasmin Ahmad’s talk at TEDxKL

Slightly over a month has passed since Yasmin Ahmad addressed a crowd of about a hundred at the TEDxKL talk, and today, we mourn her loss. The sudden passing was definitely a shock for many and it just goes to show how frail and fragile life really is. I was honored to be given the opportunity to record her live, and she even addressed me as “the camera-man“. This clip has not been edited to incorporate footage from another camera … Continue reading

McDonalds McValue Lunch short film

As our Integricity office is right beside a McDonalds outlet, our team frequents it quite a lot and more so now that there is a McValue lunch promotion! We even have our in-house ambassador named Follen, who can dine on McDonalds exclusively! (We think she gets phone calls from them to inform her of what’s up and coming!) A satisfying meal for a mere RM5.95? That’s a pretty sweet deal, and I thought so. When Grace and I found out … Continue reading

BarCamp KL 2009 – a raving success

BarCamp KL was an amazing event, with 100s of likeminded individuals crowding together at Inti College, just to bounce off each other’s passion. It was my first time attending a BarCamp and it was a fun-filled day of various activities. It goes to prove that geeks are cool (most of us anyway…) and we have varied interests. There were sessions on how to Salsa, Espresso appreciation, sharing of holiday experiences, Kufi art and also a little about coding standards. Overall … Continue reading

Wedding Story is off to Bangladesh

Yesterday, I sent off the Wedding Story team, as they embarked on a foreign wedding held at Chittagong, Bangladesh. Grace, Kee Sitt, Sharon and Ian are spending 10 days there to provide photography and videography services to Ali and Farhat. Before they departed, they wanted to send video greetings from their blog, and I was given the “privilege” to help them with that, and edit it too, with my limited amateur skills! Several hours later, here you go…
