It seems Tweeting has reached higher heights and a sign is needed to ban it in the event of a fire! Though I’m sure this is a comedic image, it shows how reliant we are on Twitter at all times. Continue reading
Maxis Communications is one of the leading mobile communications service providers in Malaysia and is the provider that pioneered 3G services in the country. They have kept their competitive edge through the years, despite more competition from new service providers entering the market by knowing their target market and customers’ individual preferences well. As technology becomes more readily available and the population of Internet users increases, the user group gets more diversified. Different users use the Internet for different reasons, … Continue reading
Today started off as any other day, except for the fact that tweets flooded in about FREE COFFEE at Starbucks! Never mind the ingenius barista who tried to upsell me the full-blown breakfast, I still got a swell deal on coffee. The concept of the campaign is awesome – freebies will definitely engage the general population and word of mouth will be the powerful medium in addition to social media tools that will spread the brand like wildfire. Literally 50% … Continue reading
Interestingly, when I was trying to update my blog and upload images, I was posed with an alert that stated “Sorry, the web site you are accessing has been closed by Royal Thai Police due to inappropriateness such as pornography, gambling or contain any information which is deemed to violate national security.” Sure, I was uploading a porn photo, or trying to bet on my favourite Thai horse, or I was planning to assassinate the king. All I was doing … Continue reading
We have had Streamyx broadband in Malaysia since the year 2000 and it was a really big deal back then. After all, I upgraded from a 56Kbps modem to the ultra-blazing fast 384Kbps always on Internet. Fast forward to 2009, our minimum packages offered by Telekom Malaysia (oftentimes referred to as Terrorkom Malaysia) are now errr, still 384Kbps, while the fastest are 4.0Mbps. Wayyy to go, Malaysia. Now, let’s look at our neighbours, Singapore. A quick check on Starhub shows … Continue reading
Today I have decided that many people are under-appreciated, especially the Technology team at the Integricity office. They are overworked and hardly ever appreciated (not underpaid, I believe!). They are akin to the your local Internet Service Provider (cough, Streamyx. Cough, Comcast) or power company. Nobody, and I mean NOBODY ever calls their support line to say, “good job, mate. I’ve got fast Internet”. Conversely, the flood of calls comes in the second there is an Internet hiccup anywhere along … Continue reading
Today, on the 22nd of June 2009, I have christened it as Clean Desk Day for me, and am inviting others to participate too. I’ve had a fairly (understatement!) messy desk for the longest time, and due to lots of research by others, I’m convinced that a clean desk helps with productivity. Knowing how important time is in this era, I need to squeeze out as much as I can. So, I dug around under my piles of “stuff” and … Continue reading
As our Integricity office is right beside a McDonalds outlet, our team frequents it quite a lot and more so now that there is a McValue lunch promotion! We even have our in-house ambassador named Follen, who can dine on McDonalds exclusively! (We think she gets phone calls from them to inform her of what’s up and coming!) A satisfying meal for a mere RM5.95? That’s a pretty sweet deal, and I thought so. When Grace and I found out … Continue reading
I’m not one of those crazy Mac fanatics who frowns on PC users, but here’s a very funny photo that I received in my email recently. Is he a spy? Perhaps his Mac was at the doctors for service?
