Project 365: A photo a day for 2010

project-365

Well, well, ladies and gentlemen… we are at the advent of yet another year. ’tis the time to make new resolutions and decide how we’re going to change for the better.

As I was perusing the Twittersphere (as I seemingly always do), I spotted a tweet by @GodsMac that talked about the idea of showcasing a photo a day of the life around you. He calls it Project 365. I thought, that’s pretty easy to do… and these days, with all the technology freely available, we can SURELY achieve that easily, right? (and yes, I may be dead wrong!).

godsmac

Anyhow, I think I’ll give it a shot and use whatever means I have to share a photo a day with the world. I’m not going to go down the path of using a DSLR, but rather whatever implements I have (which probably spells out i-P-h-o-n-e). After all, setting the bar overly high will make it counterproductive, in my experience thus far.

I think I’ll stick with using Facebook to publish my photos, and once a month, I’ll create a montage of photos and post them here. This beats writing a diary (or even blogging, for that matter!).

Will you join me on this endeavour? So far, I’ve had some response from the Twittersphere on who will embark on this too.

project365-tweets

Share your pictures with me (send me your URL whether Facebook / Flickr / etc), and I’ll be happy to highlight them here on a monthly basis too.

sounds like a cool idea, but I dont know whether I’ll be able to maintain it.. (which means remember).. perhaps I’ll give it a shot.. hmmm

  • karen said:

cool idea! Picture speaks a thousand words

  • TheBackpackr (author) said:

I don’t know if I can maintain it. But I’ll try. I don’t think we MUST start on January 1st, but just start whenever you feel like it. If you missed the 1st of Jan marker, don’t worry – just do it, if you think it’s a good idea.

And to answer Asther, they could certainly be pictures taken before that date and touched up which you share with the world.

sounds fun… i’ll try to do it too :)

Neat idea, Alex. I did something similar when I was in Melbourne.. photographing the sunset outside my window every day (except if I missed it to due classes or work). See here: http://secretwindowproject.blogspot.com

sound very exciting. this is me joining you. but instead of photos, i will be doing a collage, not necessary photos of my own but little things i do everyday. just for fun.

  • TheBackpackr (author) said:

chaiyen, a collage is fine. The project is really an expression of you. Rather like a microblog, but through your eyes. All the best with the project: though it looks like a lot more work to me!

wen, it’s not an original idea of mine, but merely promoting it to all to try. Your secretwindowproject is surely interesting too. It’s like a timelapse of sorts. Thanks for sharing with me.
