Facebook fan pages can be really creative these days. You could either install applications that have been created already, design your own tab using FBML (which is a variant of HTML – it’s not too difficult) or program your own application (which is the most challenging of the lot).
To show you what some sites have done for their fan pages, here’s a cool website called Facebook Showcase that highlights what’s cool out there. You can even submit your fan page if you think you’re cool enough.

When the Apple iPhone was first launched, there was no application that allowed inter-iPhone-messaging. Then came Ping! which stirred up the community somewhat, but was not wildly accepted. Then came WhatsApp that was heaps better and received widespread acceptance.
Today, it is hailed as one of the first apps an iPhone user MUST install, as it allows you to message your friends for free. As their tagline goes, “SMS is so 2008″.

WhatsApp is a great application that is useful for instant messaging from iPhone-to-iPhone for FREE. It is akin to the Blackberry Messenger, and is a rival application to the much famed Ping, which picked up a huge following due to the $0 price tag when it first launched. (They have since launched Ping Lite which is still free).
However, WhatsApp seemingly does not support quite a number of countries, but there is a legitimate way around it. Their website quotes in their FAQ:
