You’ve heard the phrase, you cannot create something viral: it just becomes viral. And it’s absolutely true! On January 16th 2010, the Malaysian Information Communication and Culture minister, Dr Rais Yatim stated the following, which was deemed as rather preposterous. This had the whole Internet up in arms against him, especially on the Twittersphere. Here’s an excerpt on what he said taken from The Star Online: SEREMBAN: Malaysians, especially Muslims, must avoid being totally immersed in the internet culture, especially … Continue reading
Krishnakant Mane is a truly amazing young man who hails from Mumbai, India. He is a very accomplished visually disabled person, who has fought to overcome his weaknesses and maximize his strengths. During TEDxKL in June, I was fortunate to meet him and record his moving (and extremely funny) talk on the use of technology, open source software and how a disabled person can live a more normal life with the use of speech synthesis. I think my favorite lines … Continue reading
As our Integricity office is right beside a McDonalds outlet, our team frequents it quite a lot and more so now that there is a McValue lunch promotion! We even have our in-house ambassador named Follen, who can dine on McDonalds exclusively! (We think she gets phone calls from them to inform her of what’s up and coming!) A satisfying meal for a mere RM5.95? That’s a pretty sweet deal, and I thought so. When Grace and I found out … Continue reading
Yesterday, I sent off the Wedding Story team, as they embarked on a foreign wedding held at Chittagong, Bangladesh. Grace, Kee Sitt, Sharon and Ian are spending 10 days there to provide photography and videography services to Ali and Farhat. Before they departed, they wanted to send video greetings from their blog, and I was given the “privilege” to help them with that, and edit it too, with my limited amateur skills! Several hours later, here you go…
Created with Final Cut Pro, shot with a Panasonic DVX 102B, edited on my Macbook Pro, fuelled by a team of 7 passionate team members… we crafted this short clip in 15 hours! I attended a Christian media conference recently, which is meant to promote the use of media in the church context. There were 3 streams – live audio, photography and videography. I opted to improve my production skills and signed up for videography. It was an intense 4 … Continue reading
Sound is half of your production. After the production, if sound is bad, what do you do? Reshoot? You can’t! Make sure it is set up well at the start. Sounds and visuals are combined to give you the whole experience. The thingy at the end is called a cat tail
Eric Foo is a fabulously talented self-taught man. He’s achieved so many great things in the realm of production, and humbly says he still needs to learn much. Today at the LiveWire Charge Up! Conference, he took a workshop on lighting and explained the concept of 3-point lighting.
I was sharing the idea and concept behind TheBackpackr.com with Cheng Leng, a good serial blogger friend of mine who hails from Malacca but who has now gone across the border to kiasuland. She’s one girl who is very much in the blogging scene and perhaps even spends more time online than I do! One video blogger she told me about who has been really successful is Luria Petrucci (or better known by her screen name – Cali Lewis) from … Continue reading
